February 13, 1959 – February 16, 2026
Mrs. Delores H. Davis, was born on February 13, 1959, to the late Louise M. Wallington and the late Will Candice Hayes. She departed this life on February 16, 2026, at Beacon Place.
Delores was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she attended Grimsley High School. She was employed with Goodwill Industries as a dedicated production worker. At an early age, she attended Mt. Zion Church of God. Later in life, Delores rededicated her life to God and was baptized on April 21,2024. She remained a faithful and devoted member, always eager to ride the church van and participate in the transportation ministry.
Delores was a loving and caring woman who deeply cherished her family. She especially adored her grandsons, Quintrale and Quincy. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Delores loved to sing— there was rarely a moment when you didn’t hear her lifting her voice in song, she was full of laughter, wore a warm smile, and loved engaging in heartfelt conversations. She also enjoyed walking and had a special love for good food; wherever there was a meal, you could be sure Delores was nearby.
She was preceded in death by her five sisters: Barbara Hayes Brunson, Alice Hayes Cobb, Nora Hayes, Katrina Hayes Carter, and Ruth Hayes McNair; four brothers: Sherman Hayes, Thomas Hayes, Raymond Hayes and Will Hayes.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory one Daughter, Shekita Hayes whom she loved dearly; two grandsons, Quintrale Davis and Quincy Hayes; one loving brother, Jerome Hayes ( Sandra) of Greensboro, NC; special friends Beverly, Wanda, and Thomas; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
