Obituary
Greensboro - Pastor Deborah J. Copeland died December 13, 2010 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born January 1, 1952 to the late Frank Sprunt Murphy and Maxine Hickman.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at New Jerusalem Cathedral, with family visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m.
On January 8, 1972 Deborah married Calvin R. Copeland of Chesterfield, SC. Togehter they raised four daughters, Maria Morgan, Tammie Tutt, Alma Jordan, and Angria Cornelius.
Deborah became an ordained minister on May 31, 1998. She had a passion for cooking and empathy for the sick.
Deborah is survived by her husband, four daughters, 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Henry Lovett of Cary, NC, Robert Lovett of Little Rock, AR, William Lovett, Anthony Lovett, Reginald Murphy of Chattanooga, TN, William Murphy of Fort Washington, MC, James Murphy of Clinton, MD; ghree sisters, Sandra Lovett, Stephanie Lovett and Sally Parker of Decatur, GA, as well as other relatives and many friends.
