GREENSBORO - David Earl Robinson (Heavy D), entered his life on November 10, 1963 and entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, John Artist.
A Celebration Of Life service will be held January 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Holmes Grove United Methodist Church.
David attended Hobbton High School in Newton Grove, NC and after graduation he relocated to Greensboro. He was employed by Serta Mattress in Whitsett, NC for 20 years, until he became disabled.
David left a lasting impression on anyone that crossed paths with him,especially his cooking. There was no bigger Dallas Cowboy fan than David, win or lose.
He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Persian Robinson; son, David Earl Robinson, Jr., both of Greensboro; mother, Sophronia Robinson, whom he loved dearly, of Greensboro, formerly of Newton Grove, NC; sisters, Mildred Augustine of Boston, MA, Melba (Warren) Brown of Greensboro, Willa Elliott of Four Oaks, NC,Wilma Robinson of Greensboro, Gloria Robinson of Selma, NC, Marilyn Robinson (Larry) of Newton Grove, NC; brother, James Kelly Robinson (Mary) of Newton Grove, NC; God-Sister, LaShonda Morrisey of Raleigh, NC; a dear friend, Rita Hunter, and her sons Roger and Christopher Cooper; Roommate, Tim; Best Friend, Phil; his Serta Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other friends.
