Obituary

Clarence Edward Crawford, loving known as "Mr. C" was born in Amherst, Virginia on December 5, 1938 to the late Jack and Mary Crawford.  He drifted into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

Clarence received his early childhood education in the public school system of Amherst, Virginia before moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, then on to New York City where he met and married Evelyn O. Graves of Reidsville, North Carolina.  They had two children, Ricky D. Crawford of Eden, North Carolina and Tina E. Crawford of High Point, North Carolina.

Clarence initially lived in the Bronx, where he worked as a cab driver in New York City; then he worked for Hackensack Ford delivering parts for the service department.  Once his daughter turned 5, he moved his family to Detroit, Michigan where he worked as a security guard and back yard mechanic.  After moving to North Carolina in the late 1990s, he became a crossing guard for the Guilford County School System where he ultimately retired from.

He found a church home at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he attended bible school and church services up until his health began to decline.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Charles Crawford both of Montclair, New Jersey.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his beloved wife, Evelyn; son Ricky of Eden, NC; daughter, Tina of High Point, NC; granddaughter, Angela Crawford of Eden, NC; grandsons, Ricky Crawford, II from Reidsville, NC, Darryl A.
