Clara Patricia Kennedy Weston was born on July 11, 1937. She was the only daughter born to the late Isabell and William Patrick Kennedy. She was a native New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn. She spent the majority of her summers on the Jersey Shore with her extended Richardson family. She moved to Long Island in the 1960's where she raised her 3 children: Doreen, Karen, and Joseph. She was an active member of New Shiloh Baptist Church in Wyandanch.
In 1981 she married Augustus Weston. Clara and Wes were proud and protective parents of their blended family. In 2007, they relocated to Greensboro, NC. They easily adapted to the lifestyle of the south, making new friends and joining St. James Baptist Church.
Clara and Wes both enjoyed playing cards at the local senior center and attending events at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. Clara started a Pokeno club that meets monthly. The "Pokeno Ladies" have continued the tradition and still play today. She is survived by her brother, William Kennedy, Jr. (Colorado); her children, Doreen (North Carolina), Karen (New York) and Joseph (New York); as well as her two grandsons, Jason and Davonte; and one great - granddaughter Janiah.
