GREENSBORO - Mr. Christopher Ellis Compton, 29, died June 6, 2011.
His funeral will be Monday, June 13, 2011 at 1:30 PM at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1310 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. Family visitation will begin at 1:00 PM.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Latosha Irving Compton, his mother Deborah Compton-Holt, daughters Tanazija, Taliyah, and Megan, sons Jamel, Tymeik, and Anthony, also his brothers, Willis Elliott Compton (Rochonda), Trae Javar Compton, maternal grandmother, Frances Compton; aunts Phyllis Compton (Howard), Suzette C. Frances (Henry), Vanessa Compton, uncle William (Bill) Compton, special friends, Travis "PMAC" Watlington, Irving "Rush" Allen, Michael "Mikey" Canada (Joy), Chris "Ruget" McCullen and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends along with God parents Deborah Sandlin and Charles Greene.
Chris attended James B. Dudley High School. He was employed by the Glenwood Development Group. Chris founded The Compton Foundation to mentor at-risk youth. Though confined to a wheelchair, Chris walked with giants and now he flies with angels.
