Obituary

GREENSBORO — It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Mr. Bunice Albert Villines. On March 7, 2013 at 8:08 a.m., Brother Villines returned to his heavenly home and took his place in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He leaves behind in loving legacy his wife of 40 years Mrs. Louise M. Villines and his granddaughter, M. Alfre Dreamsky.

Originally from Person County, NC, Mr. B. A. Villines moved to Greensboro after many years of service for our country as a military medic during the Korean War. Mr. Villines continued to aide and support the community in his chosen career as a United States Postal Worker from which he retired. A man of strong faith, Mr. Villines was an active, longstanding member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.

In addition, he was a dedicated volunteer of the Salvation Army's Community Outreach and Meals-on-Wheels programs. A dutiful and honored member of Khalif Temple No. 144: Prince Hall Shriners, the Masonic Invincible Lodge No. 251 and the Greensboro Consistory No. 106. During his retirement, Mr. Villines exemplified community compassion by serving as a school crossing guard and often visiting the sick and shut-in just to offer a warm infectious smile, bold laughter and thoughtful kindness to those in need.

Last Masonic rites take place on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 7 p.m.; Hargett Funeral Home located at 905 E. Market St. in Greensboro. The memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.; Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 1301 Alamance Church Rd, Greensboro, NC.

The viewing will be held 30 minutes before services begin. Interment will take place at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 High Point Rd. in the City of Greensboro.
