God blessed us with the life and presence of Brandon De’juan Greer beginning September 4, 1984. He departed this life on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
Brandon was educated in the Guilford County School System and was a 2002 graduate of Walter Hines Page High School. After high school, he attended Guilford Technical Community College where he perfected skills that served him well throughout his years. He was employed at Dairy Fresh of High Point, NC for almost 10 years as a dedicated Freezing Manager. He was a tremendous leader to his team and an inspiration to many.
Brandon was the proud father of his beautiful daughter Brianna Greer who recently graduated with honors in the Class of 2026 from The Point – College Prep and Leadership Academy in High Point, NC. He loved spending time with his handsome nephews Breylen, Bryce, and Braun as well as with his beautiful niece Brielle. He also loved spending time with his, “Ride or Die” cousin, Paul Gilmer, Jr. Brandon loved God, his family, and his many friends who were also family to him. Brandon was an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan and displayed his fandom often. He had a tremendous sense of humor, and his beautiful smile, laughter and presence will always be felt, remembered and never forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Harris and his sister, Kiara Gilmore.
He is survived by his daughter, Brianna Greer; loving parents, Bonita and John A. Staton, II; sister, LaVishia Barnes (Brian); nephews and niece; grandparents, Linda McDowell, Richard Johnson (Lena) and John A. Staton, Sr.; aunts, LaPondia Wallace, Trina Wall (Jeffrey) and Tracy Haynesworth; uncles, Carlos Johnson (Tinnequa), Edwin Staton (LouMecia), Angelo Harris, and Quinton Harris; and a very special and devoted friend, LaToya Thomas.
As a third generation descendant of the McDowell-Greer family, Brandon will live in the memories of his many cousins and his great aunts and uncles; Diane McDowell Thomas, Catholine and Gerald Haley, Thelma and Paul Gilmer, Sr., and Carolyn and Aldine Clinard. He is remembered not only by his family, but by those who became family; his brothers Daniel Moore (Crystal), Rico Moore, and Jayme Murphy. He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of other relatives and endearing friends.
A public viewing will be held at Hargett Funeral Service, Inc., 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 408 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Greensboro; visitation with the family begins at 10:30 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
