Mr. Bobby Lee Hannah, son of the late Luther Johnson and Ruth Hannah, was born May 3, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA. He departed this life on July 4, 2015.
As a child Bobby, also known as "Bo Hannah," attended school in Wilson, NC and went to Holy Temple Church. He enjoyed participating in sporting activities such as track and football.
Bobby worked at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, formerly known as Standard Commercial Tobacco Company, for 25 years before he retired. He was an active participant with their baseball team where he played as their first baseman and right field. He was a faithful member of Glory Baptist Church where he served as an usher and part of the security team.
After retiring, Bobby relocated to Sumpter, SC. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. However, in 2011 he moved to Greensboro, NC where he remained.
Bobby leaves to cherish his precious memories, his daughter, Patricia D. Washington of Sumpter, SC; son, Robert L. Hannah of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Robert L. Hannah, Jr., Shantea O. Washington, and Shanell A. Washington; sisters, Theresa Hannah Davis of Atlanta, GA and Cynthia Floyd of Greensboro, NC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc., 1301 Alamance Church Rd., Greensboro. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
