IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beverly
Warren
April 9, 1956 – July 25, 2022
Beverly Sue Alston Warren, daughter of the late Lucy Ann Craig Smith and late James Walter Alston, was born on April 9, 1956, in Greensboro, NC. Beverly entered peacefully into eternal life in Greensboro on Monday, July 25, 2022.
Beverly spent her early years in Washington, DC, and the family later moved to Greensboro where she graduated from Walter Hines Page High School. Upon graduation, she put her passion for caring for others to use by working in the healthcare field for most of her life. Beverly moved to Atlanta, GA in 2015, but she moved back to Greensboro in March 2022 to be closer to her family.
Beverly enjoyed collecting elephants and clocks, decorating her home with collectible items, and relished in making fashion statements by wearing hats from her expansive hat collection. She also enjoyed dancing, as well as cooking her favorite dishes to share with her family. Moreover, she was a devoted churchgoer and spent much of her spare time fellowshipping with her church family and friends.
She was married to Frank George; out of that union one child, Tiffany, was born. She later married Winfred Warren, Jr.; and out of that union one child, Winky, was born.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lucy Tonkins Fairley affectionally called "Mu" and brothers, Robert "Bobby" Alston and Joseph "Joe" Alston, both of Greensboro.
Left to cherish Beverly's memory is her loving family – children, Tiffany George and Winfred "Winky" Warren, III; grandchildren, Masen, Mavrik, India, and Parrish; brothers, Walter "Tony" Alston and Alonza "Lonnie" Smith; sisters, Debra Alston Stokes (Al) and Pamela Alston; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins and friends - all who will miss her dearly but will always cherish their many fond memories of her.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro at 12:30 pm.
