GREENSBORO - Ms. Betty Ruth Hicks Jamison, 78 died Monday November 28, 2011 at Wesley Long Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Church of Christ, 781 Shirley Lane, Greensboro, NC 27401.

Betty was born October 30, 1933 in Guildford County, daughter of the late William C. Hicks and Epsie Herbin Hicks. She received her education by the Guildford County school system. She married Mr. Joshua Jamison and to this union six children were born. A retiree from Sears and Roebuck Company, Betty was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ and served as a Praise Leader, Women's Council member, Missionary treasurer, Armor Bearer, Pastor's Aid President and choir member.

Ms. Jamison leaves to mourn her five children: two sons, George Jamison and Roger Jamison (Denise) and three daughters, Winifred Bingham, Gwendolyn Thacker, Marie Tate; Grand children, Emeridge Thacker Jr., Katina Thacker, Alayna Bingham, Rachel Jamison, Sarah Jamison, Venus Tate and Matthew Jamison; six great grand children; one great-aunt, Ida Richardson and three great-uncles Troy Herbin, Arthur Hicks and John William Herbin and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Jamison.
