Benita Denise Troxler Ortiz, 58, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021.

Benita Denise Troxler-Ortiz, daughter of the late Peggy Ann Moore and Ben Ezell Crow, was born on February 21, 1963 in Greensboro, NC.  Benita was peacefully called home on October 11, 2021.

She received her education at Ben L. Smith High School, Rutledge College, and GTCC.  Her passion was working for security which she did for 22 years.  All her life she helped and took care of anybody that needed help.  She opened her doors for all her family.  Loved by everyone, she leaves her legacy and memories with us all.  To know her, was to love her.  She touched so many lives and her love was immeasurable.

She was preceded in death by mother, Girtharine Patterson; father, Carl K. Patterson; granddaughter, Lakeithia Troxler; and brothers, Willie L. Troxler and Carl L. Patterson.

Benita leaves to cherish her memories:  husband, Jamie Ortiz; daughter, Latoya Troxler; son, Keith Troxler; goddaughters, Tia Fox-Taliaferro (Choyce) and Rhonda Brooks; special child, Rashawn Potts; stepfather, James Moore; brothers, Tony Troxler (Susie), Willie Troxler (Crescent), Brian Crow, Keith Potts, and Ron Patterson; stepsister, Ivy Caldwell (Kezelin); best friend, Michelle Miller; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro.  A homegoing celebration will be held in the chapel on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Visitation with the family begins at 11:00 am followed by the service at 11:30 am.
