Aundria Hortense Merriweather Gaynor, 89, passed away on December 23, 2025. A woman of strong faith and deep devotion to family, she lived a life marked by love, grace, and quiet strength.

She is survived by her sister Samantha Pepper, beloved husband, Hollis B. Gaynor Jr.; her children Dr.Edwinta Merriweather, Mitzi (Montique) Blalock, Michele Gaynor, and Lt. Col. Hollis C. (Melody) Gaynor; grandchildren Alfred B. (LaPrayshia) Jennings, Natasha (Christopher) Medina, Ashley Brown, and James (Liz) Brown; and great-grandchildren Brian Lewis Jr., Braydin Lewis, Dominic Medina, Alexander Medina, and Aubrey Jennings. She was also blessed by the love shown from her nephew Dr. Selwyn (Janice) Vickers. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of friends and family members.

Interment will take place at Calvary Memorial Gardens in Decatur, Alabama Wednesday, December 31 at 12:00 pm.  A Celebration of Life service will be held in Greensboro at a later date.
