Aronia Bethea Jr. aka "Junie," son of the late Aronia Bethea Sr. and Mary Edith Bethea, was born on August 17, 1952 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He transitioned from this life into eternity on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Junie was one of six children, and was preceded in death by his father Aronia Bethea Sr. and his brother Marvin Bethea.

Junie was graduate of James B. Dudley High School, and was employed many years with Eastern Airlines. At an early age he accepted Christ, and attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Youth Usher Board. Junie loved to travel, and he loved to talk about his son Roni.

Junie is survived by his son, Aronia Harris Bethea III of Miami, Florida; his mother, Mary Edith Bethea of Fayetteville, Georgia; three sisters, Diane Byers (James) and Cynthia Roberts both of Greensboro, NC, Deborah Copeland (Kenny) of Fayetteville, Georgia; one brother, Samuel Bethea Sr. (Deborah) of Greensboro, NC; a dear and loving friend, Daisy Mickel of Greensboro, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 306 S. English St., Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 11:00 am followed by the service at 11:30 am.
