On Thursday, March 15, 2017 God dispatched an angel to Moses Cone to pick for Him one of his beautiful "roses" from His rose garden. This sweet rose was Mr. Archery Thompson. Archery Monyae Thompson is the son of James McCollum, Jr. and Stephanie Thompson.

"AR" was a God fearing man. He made sure to pray daily and to pay his tithes every week. He loved music and loved to help people. He would give anyone the shirt off his back. He touched the hearts of many. He was so full of life!

Preceding him in death are his two grandfathers, James Thompson and James McCollum; grandmother, Mammie Thompson; and aunt, Phyllis Thompson.

His soul lives on through his two sons, Archery M. Thompson, Jr. and Kamden A. Thompson; parents, James McCollum, Jr. (Francina) and Stephanie Thompson; grandmother, Mary McCollum; brother, Larue Thompson (Latoya); sisters, Phenicia Thompson, Asia J. McCollum-Golden (Eddie), Aviance McCollum, and Tassia Thompson; stepbrothers, Jermaine Chapmen, Edward Chapman; and James Harrison; stepsisters, Keisia Southern, Kelly Chavis, Donielle Locklear; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family, and friends.
His loving and charming smile will be greatly missed.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro. Visitation with the family begins at 11:30 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
