Apostle H. Sheldon McCray, Sr was born August 31, 1974 to Shirley Boyd and Herman McCray. He departed this life on Friday, May 7, 2021. His mother preceded him in death.

Apostle H. Sheldon McCray, Sr. graduated from Melbourne High School (1989-1992). He worked at Deveruex in Viera, Florida ten plus years.

In 1991 he began ministering in the Church of Christ for eight years and in 1994 he was appointed the youth Pastor. In 1999 he was ordained as an Evangelist. He traveled all over the state of Florida doing revivals and saving lost souls.

In 2000 he joined Spirit of Truth Ministry and was ordained a Prophet. He received a word from the Lord (Genesis 13: 1-3) during one of his revivals. He stepped out on faith and moved to Greensboro, NC where he immediately began having services in the Parkview Apartments Clubhouse.

In 2002 Apostle Sheldon McCray, Sr founded New Birth Sounds of Thunder Christian Center, Inc. In October 2005 he was affirmed as an Apostle. For over twenty-two years this servant of God has been a man of faith, ministering the word and bringing people to Christ, instilling Kingdom principles and a Kingdom lifestyle. Apostle operated in a Five-Fold Ministry.

Apostle McCray acquired a master's degree in Theology and Biblical Counseling. He taught Kingdom Leadership training and offered ministerial training; ordaining those individuals who had been called for the service of the Lord. Apostle McCray was also founder of Kingdom Fellowship of Churches, Nehemiah Community Empowerment Center, McCray Outreach Ministries, and H. Sheldon McCray Ministries, Inc. In 2011, Apostle McCray was ordained as Bishop of the Western District of the State of NC by the Eagles Nest Church Ministries. In 2017 Apostle was appointed First Administrative Assistant of the Kingdom Covenant Fellowship Intl. in the Greater NC District.

In 2004 his path led him to Trina Scott. On July 30, 2005 he married the Love of his Life: his Elect Lady, Trina Scott McCray. They were married for fifteen and half years. To this union two sons were born, Herman Sheldon McCray, Jr. and Caleb Isaiah McCray.

He leaves to carry on his legacy: his wife, and two sons of Greensboro, NC; his Father: Herman McCray, Blakely, SC; Sisters: Stephanie McCray Evans (Gary), Clermont, Fl; Latosha Johnson (Julius), Newberry, Fl; Princess McCray(Rahbiah Butler), Killeen, TX; Jennifer McCray Parker(Tiyon), Columbia, SC; Lasawsha Larkin(Eugene), Larkin Cocoa, Fl; Vasilinda Jackson, St Paul MN; Brothers: Gerard Jackson (Chamika), Greensboro, NC; Nathaniel Nesmith (Nichelle), Melbourne, Fl. Aunts & Uncles: Gloria Boyd (Kamesha), Macon Ga; Timothy Boyd (Ann), Marshton, NC; Nathaniel Nesmith, Jacksonville, Fl; Pearl Black (Allen), Mannie McCray (Bessie), Ulysses McCray (Delores), all of Salters, SC. Twenty-six Nieces and Nephews.

Mother-in-Law: Earline Scott, Greensboro, NC; Brother-in-Laws: Joseph Scott (Agretta); Ervin Scott, both of Greensboro, NC. Sister-in-Laws: Marilyn Lennon (Wilbert); Pastor Pearlie Scott, both of Greensboro, NC and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
