Amber Yvonne Mahatha Davis transitioned from Beacon Place Hospice to her heavenly resting place on September 13, 2018.

Amber was born August 26, 1979 in Greensboro, North Carolina and was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy S. Mahatha (Lady); stepfather, Willis M. Mahatha, Sr.; and her twin sister, Anansa Mahatha. Amber graduated from Ben L. Smith High School and attended North Carolina A &T College to pursue a degree in Construction Management.

Amber was a foodie and loved cooking. Among her signature dishes were banana pudding and macaroni and cheese.  Whatever she cooked was sure to be a great tasting meal.

When the cancer recurred earlier this year and was terminal, Amber decided to be joyful as much as possible, to accept what she could not change. She is at peace having lived a great life with people she loved and who loved her.

Amber is survived by her husband, William L. Davis; daughters, Asher and India Mahatha; siblings, Sian Mahatha, Yasmeen Mahatha, Willis M. Mahatha, Jr, Ashanta Pettiford, Robin Kellogg, Michael Kellogg, Tanza Johnson, and Bruce Mock; nieces and nephews, Naima and Ezra Kellam, Alessandra Penelope Williamson, Triston Mahatha, Dequone Taylor, Malik Jordan, Destiny Davis and Zakiyah Stowe; aunts, Daisy Motley and Tonjia Blackwel, her extended family of in-laws as well as a host of other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro.  The service will begin at 3:00 p.m.  Hargett Funeral Service is assisting the family.
