Almeta Alston born on February 28,1960 in Littleton, NC to the late John and Mary Alston. She resided in Greensboro, NC from 1966 until her departure on July 27, 2026.

Almeta attended Page High School. After graduating, she attended Guilford Technical Community College where she obtained an associate degree of science in nursing. After obtaining her associate degree she obtained a Bachelors degree of science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC.

Almeta was employed at Moses Cone Hospital where she was a registered nurse who also served on the education and practice committees while also teaching CPR. While also being employed at advanced Home Care Almeta served as a RN and Home Care Case Manager as well as an assisted living director at Abbotswood at Iriving Park. Soon after she went on to start Alston Personal care services which she later handed over to her niece Tamika Edwards.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George Alston, Luehenry Alston, Rickey Lee Alston and Jerry Alston; and sisters, Brenda and Votia Alston all of Greensboro, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Ernest Wayne Alston; sisters, Mary Patterson, Erma Alston, Aronita Alston, and Alice Adams all of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, August 7 in the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel; visitation with the family begins at 12:00 pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
