Alice Doris McCray Flemming, 86, of Greensboro, NC went home to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, November 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. Alice was born December 15, 1932 to the late Sam McCray and Katie Wells.

Alice graduated from James B. Dudley High School with the class of 1950 where she excelled academically. She was a former member of Godly Love and True Worship until her health declined. She worked for the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG) until she retired.

Alice was a quiet person but when something was funny; she laughed so much that you had to laugh too.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceeded in death by her five siblings, Annie Mae McCray Bolden, Bertina McCray Sloan, Hazel McCray Thompson, Sam McCray, Robert McCray, and Leon McCray.

Left to cherish her memories are her one and only child, Debra better known as "Debbie" Benton (Payton); two grandchildren, Ashley Benton (Latoya) of Greensboro, NC and Derrick Benton (Andrea) of Maple Hill, NC; six great grandchildren, Jasmine Benton, Jamarl Graves, Jada Hooks all of Greensboro, NC and Taikeya Benton, Breanna Benton, and Derrick "Junebug" Benton, Jr. all of Maple Hill, NC; six great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 E. Market Street, Greensboro.  Visitation with the family begins at 12:30 pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
