IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aldine Jerome
Clinard, Jr.
September 27, 1974 – January 13, 2024
Aldine Jerome Clinard, Jr. was born September 27, 1974, in Greensboro, North Carolina to Carolyn McDowell Clinard and Aldine Jerome Clinard, Sr. Al, AD, Junior as he was affectionately known, departed this life on January 13, 2024, at the age of 49.
Al was educated in the Guilford County School System. He was a 1992 Graduate of Ben L. Smith Senior High School, where he enjoyed playing football. In November 1992 he was pinned as an Eagle Scout, the highest achievement/rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. After graduation, Al attended North Carolina A&T State University but after one semester and far too many hours down the road with the Bennett Belles he decided to enter the workforce. Al worked various jobs to include Hardee's, Guilford County, Southern Foods Food Supplier, TIMCO Aviation Services, and Ferraro Foods. He was a hard worker, team player and brought a laugh into the workplace that was contagious. Al was also a skilled painter; a little something he learned from his dad. He had a way of transforming homes with paint colors. He had an eye for accent walls and would suggest some bold ideas that always turned out great. He stayed booked and busy with requests to paint.
Al prioritized God, Family and Friends (in that order). He always saw the glass as half full and he was motivated to make each day better than the last. Al's greatest joy in life was being Jalan's (Jroc) dad. He took great pride in all his son's accomplishments. Al was known as the world's best babysitter. He loved children and the kids loved him. Al was always there to get you to school, get you from the bus stop, move you to college and pick you up for Holiday Break. If he could help a youngster succeed…..count him in.
Al also loved to cook AND eat! He was quick to volunteer as the Grill Master for Smith Alumni Homecomings, Southmont Park Reunions, Graduation Parties, Birthday Parties and any other occasion that involved eating. He was always trying something new and putting a twist on traditional favorites. Growing up in a house where Kool-Aid was a staple, he always kept a pitcher of it in the refrigerator. It had to be Kool-Aid brand and he always mixed a flavor packet and a lemonade packet. A perfect day included good food, great drink and a big screen to cheer on his San Franciso 49ers; "Bang! Bang! Niners Gang!"
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his parents, Aldine and Carolyn Clinard, Sr.; son, Jalan Clinard; sister, Quintana Stewart (William); nephew, Noah Stewart; Goddaughter, Russia Donaldson; mother of his only begotten son and longtime friend, Trina Jackson. He is also survived by uncle Reginald Clinard (Lois); aunts Diane Thomas, Catholine Haley (Gerald), Thelma Gilmer (Paul, Sr.), Linda McDowell and a host of cousins and close friends.
